Before you create a flyer, there are a few design principles worth considering.

So how can you apply these tips using Word?

Use Text Boxes and/or Sidebars






Use good quality images

  • Use the web to find royalty free images, stock photos, or Creative Commons Images
  • Use your own images
  • Use images from Word or Microsoft online that are high quality or striking


Other Tools

Use shapes to add colour splashes





Use Arrange to layer objects



Use Bullets



Use a Template

Create a flyer for one of the following:

  •     General Come visit the library
  •     Opening of new branch
  •     Revamp of Mobile Library
  •     StoryTime for Toddlers
